HBS RM3100 DroneCAN Magnetometer

Dedicated magnetic sensing, directly on DroneCAN.

A compact RM3100 compass node with onboard AP_Periph, dual CAN ports and clear axis markings.

HBS RM3100 DroneCAN magnetometer board beside a Canadian one-dollar coin for scale

Note 1: Install the board in a magnetically quiet location and use non-magnetic mounting hardware near the sensor.

The HBS RM3100 DroneCAN Magnetometer combines PNI three-axis sensing with an STM32L431 AP_Periph bridge and CAN transceiver. Its 28 × 28 mm footprint, dual JST-GH ports and selectable termination make remote placement and bus integration straightforward.

What this enables

  • Dedicated X, Y and Z RM3100 induction coils.
  • Integrated DroneCAN bridge with dual daisy-chain connectors.
  • Compact 28 × 28 mm footprint for remote placement.

Best fit for

  • DroneCAN-based UAS and robotics platforms.
  • Airframes that separate the compass from motors and power wiring.
  • Programs seeking Canadian-designed flight electronics.

Capabilities

01

RM3100 three-axis sensing

A PNI RM3100 ASIC and three induction coils provide dedicated X, Y and Z sensing.

02

Integrated DroneCAN bridge

STM32L431 AP_Periph bridges the sensor to a TCAN332 CAN transceiver.

03

Compact remote placement

The 28 × 28 mm board can be positioned away from motors and power wiring.

04

Daisy-chain connectivity

Two side-entry JST-GH ports carry power and CAN through the node.
